Contractor/Field Debt Collector: Do you have Matric/NQF Level 4 and are interested in a Field collections position?

Position: Field operation contractor: Debt Collection contractor  (Contract only)
Reports to: Head of field operations

Job Purpose:
To Interact with customers (via telephone calls as well as physical visits to a customer) in a compliant and customer centric manner in order to secure a Promise to Pay in order to achieve debt collections and voluntary surrender targets.

Minimum Requirements/ Education:

  • Grade 12 National Qualification / NQF Level 4 equivalent
  • Previous field collections experience will be advantageous
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
  • Computer literacy – MS Office – Intermediate level
  • Thorough knowledge of the debt collection process
  • Thorough knowledge of appropriate legislation

Key Duties:

  • Engage with customers to educate on the status of their account and advise on relevant information.
  • Negotiate promise-to-pay with the customer and capture all relevant information on the system.
  • Ensure customers are treated in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures pertaining to the customer.
  • Ensure customer queries and disputes are resolved timeously.
  • Actively and consistently maintain high standards of professionalism in all aspects of personal presentation and service delivery.
  • Apply knowledge of the organizational systems, structures, policies, and procedures to achieve debt collection results.
  • Provide appropriate resolution for tasks/deadlines or targets not met.
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
