Position: Call Center: Debt Collection Agents (Fixed term contract)
Reports to: Call Center Team Leader
Job Purpose:
To Interact with customers in a compliant and customer centric manner in order to secure a Promise to Pay in order to achieve collections targets
Minimum Requirements/ Education:
- Grade 12 National Qualification / NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Previous experience in debt collection
- Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
- Computer literacy – MS Office – Intermediate level
- Thorough knowledge of the collection process
- Thorough knowledge of appropriate legislation

Key Duties:
- Engage with customers to educate on the status of their account and advise on relevant information.
- Negotiate promise-to-pay with the customer and capture all relevant information on the system.
- Ensure customers are treated in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures pertaining to the customer.
- Ensure customer queries, complaints and disputes are resolved or escalated to the Team Leader.
- Actively and consistently maintain high standards of professionalism in all aspects of personal presentation and service delivery.
- Apply knowledge of the organizational systems, structures, policies and procedures to achieve collection results.
- Provide appropriate resolution for tasks/deadlines or targets not met.
- Sow commitment to the organization and teamwork by portraying willingness to exceed expectations in order to achieve individual and team objectives.
